According to customs data, China's aluminum foil exports from January to December 2021 were 1.335 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.73%. The annual export value of aluminum foil was 5.142 billion US dollars, an increase of 34.2% year-on-year, and a record high. The previous highest level was 4.304 billion US dollars in 2018. In 2021, aluminum foil exports will account for 14.8% of China's aluminum product exports.

This achievement is due to the slowdown of China's economic growth rate, sluggish effective market demand, frequent epidemics and natural disasters, sharp rise in raw materials such as aluminum ingots, dual control of energy consumption, frequent power cuts, supply chain disorder and mismatch, and shipping prices. It is even more difficult to achieve a sharp rise in the background of unprecedented difficulties, such as poor foreign trade export delivery and increasing anti-dumping cases. Behind this is the perseverance and hard work of aluminum foil companies in a complex environment, showing the continuous improvement of China's aluminum foil processing and manufacturing capabilities, enhanced supply capabilities, and the comprehensive competitive advantages and development toughness of aluminum foil and aluminum processing industries. An important force in supply chain stability.

In addition, from January to December 2021, China imported 107.416 million tons of bauxite, a year-on-year decrease of 3.7%.

From January to December 2021, China imported 3.327 million tons of alumina, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%; exported 120,000 tons of alumina, a year-on-year decrease of 22.4%.

From January to December 2021, China imported 1.58 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, a year-on-year increase of 48.5%; and exported 7,100 tons of electrolytic aluminum, a year-on-year decrease of 27.1%.

From January to December 2021, China imported 1.155 million tons of aluminum alloys, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%; and exported 151,000 tons of aluminum alloys, a year-on-year decrease of 29.7%.

From January to December 2021, China exported 5.434 million tons of aluminum products, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%; imported 478,000 tons of aluminum products, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%.
