Aluminum foil is a versatile and convenient household item that can be used for baking, wrapping food, or forming trays and dishes. But at the end of the day, you need to know how to properly dispose of or recycle your aluminum foil to help protect our environment. Learn how to reduce your environmental impact by reusing aluminum foil!

Collect aluminum foil that has been used only once.

Once you've used aluminum foil in the kitchen, try to collect as much as possible for reuse. This can make a huge difference to your zero-waste efforts and help reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills. Make sure you only collect aluminum foil that has been used once and is still clean!

Dispose of unused/baked on grease from aluminum foil correctly so it doesn't contaminate recycling bins or get mixed in with composting material.

Grease and other residues that have been baked onto the aluminum foil should not be thrown in with your regular recycling, as they may contaminate recyclables. Instead, dispose of them separately and make sure that you collect all the scraps so nothing goes to waste. You can also scrape off greasy residue before recycling for maximum reuse potential!
